Cleo Hamby

July 30, 1938 — March 13, 2009

Cleo Yvonne Hamby of Potosi, Missouri departed this life on March 13, 2009 at the Washington County Memorial Hospital having reached the age of seventy years, seven months and thirteen days. She was born on July 30, 1938, a daughter to the late Luther Jarvis and Grace Helms Jarvis.

On December 23, 1954, Cleo married Bobby Hamby and they shared fifty four years. She was a member of the Potosi Freewill Baptist Church. She was a strong Christian woman who loved church, singing and visiting people. When she was younger, she loved to paint, do ceramics and work on Family History and Genealogy.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a sister Lindy Ruby; sister in law Helen Jarvis and a brother in law Pete Hedrick.

Those who remain to mourn the passing of her life are her husband Bobby Hamby of Cadet; two sons Bobby Hamby, Jr of Potosi; Alan Hamby and wife Crystal of Cadet; two daughters Karen Canepari and husband Mark of Potosi; LeAnn Guenther and husband Roger of Potosi; brother Raymond Jarvis of Mineral Point; sister Dorothy Hedrick of Leadwood; twelve grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; many other relatives and friends who will sadly miss her.

Funeral services were conducted on Monday, March 16, 2009 at 2PM at the Britton Chapel with Rev. Ardel Gray and Kevin Reed officiating. Serving as pallbearers were Mike Govero, Mike Hamby, Tim DeClue, Robert Horton, Lonnie Callahan and Mike Kley.

Interment and final prayers were held at Hopewell Cemetery. All arrangements were entrusted to the care and direction of the Britton Funeral Home of Potosi.
