Clarence Harris

February 4, 1916 — September 12, 2008

Clarence Harris of Potosi, Missouri departed this life on September 12, 2008 at St. Louis University Hospital, having reached the age of 92 years 7 months and 8 days. He was born on February 4, 1916 at Washington, Missouri, a son of the late John Harris and Sarah ?Means? Harris.

Clarence served with Honorable Service in the U.S. Army and was discharged on September 1, 1945. Mr. Harris was awarded a bronze star for India-Burma Campaign, 5 overseas bars, the Asiatic- Pacific theatre campaign ribbon, and the American defense service ribbon.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers Frank ?Bud? Harris and John L. Harris, 3 sisters Gladys Gamble, Martha Gregory, Nellie Hayes, 4 nephews David Mosier, Ralph Mosier, Leon Mosier and George Harris.

Those who remain to mourn the passing of his life are Nieces, Dorothy Boyer of Potosi, Nellie Odle of Arkansas,Mildred (Millie) Boyer of Arkansas, Barbara Dawdy of Texas, Bernice Bilyeu of Illinois, Cleo LaFrank of Illinois; Nephews Floyd (Lee)Fockler of Florida, Johnny Fockler of Cuba, Harold Mosier of Illinois and William (Bill) Fockler of West Plains.

Funeral Services were conducted on Monday, September 15, 2008 at 1 PM at the Britton Chapel of Potosi, with Rev. Phil Wade officiating. Serving as pallbearers were Chris Harbison, Jimmy Harbison, Jimmy Odle, Harold Mosier, and Larry Bilyeu.

Interment and final prayers were held at the Hopewell Cemetery. All arrangements were entrusted to the care and direction of the Britton Funeral Home of Potosi.
