Clarence Edward Skiles of Mineral Point, Mo. was born on November 6, 1934 in Mineral Point a son to the late Frank "Boss" Skiles and the late Maude Ellen (Cantrell) Skiles. On June 15, 1956 Edward was united in marriage to Mary Jane Smith and they shared fifty-nine years together. Edward passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 1, 2018 at the Washington County Memorial Hospital at the age of eighty-three.
Survivors include his three sons: David Skiles and Anita Portell, John (Joy) Skiles, Frank (Lynn) Skiles; daughter/niece, Ruthie (Thomas) Skiles-Remley; sister, Ruby (Bill) Smith; grandchildren: Jennifer (Kris) Tucker, Frankie Skiles, Bryan (Melissa) Benson, Nathaniel (Sandra) Skiles, Mary Ellen (Doug) Lawson, Michael Skiles, Justin (Andrew) Ross and Jeannie Wisdom;great grandchildren: Alyson, Jayden, Tucker, Connor, Fletcher, Trinity, Dougie, Madelynn, Lily, Tessa, William and Adeline; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Richard (Hazel) Smith and John (Sharon) Smith; also surviving are nieces, nephews extended family and friends who will miss him.
In addition to his parents, Edward was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Mary Jane Skiles; brothers: Floyd Skiles and Francois Skiles; sister-in-law, Margaret Skiles.
Visitation will be Saturday, February 3, 2018 from 4:30-8:00 p.m. and Sunday, February 4, from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. at the DeClue Funeral Home.
A Funeral Service will be held on Sunday, February 4, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. held in the DeClue Memorial Chapel with Pastor Kenny Gamble officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials are directed to the Caring Hearts Pregnancy Resource Center of Potosi or to Celebrate Recovery. Memorial envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
Interment and final prayers will be held in the Hopewell Cemetery. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the care and direction of the DeClue Funeral Home.
