Christina Schroer

Christina Fay Schroer of Potosi, Missouri passed away on April 16, 2015 at the Phelps County Regional Medical Center having reached the age of fifty four years, nine months, and ten days. She was born on July 6, 1960 a daughter to Linda (Yancey) the late Fred Russell. Those who remain to mourn her passing are her beloved husband Joseph Schroer of Potosi, Missouri; son Devon Schroer of Potosi, Missouri; daughter Suzanne Kay Schroer of Rockville, Maryland; mother Linda Russell of Potosi, Missouri; sister Kay Malugen and husband Kevin of Farmington, Missouri; father and mother-in-law Lester and Maryann Schroer of Potosi, Missouri; brother and sister-in-laws: Andy Portell and wife Nancy of Old Mines, Missouri, Mike Schroer and wife Holly of Jefferson City, Missouri, and Deb Gaines and fiance David Miles of Choctaw, Oklahoma; and many other aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and dear extended family members and friends. In addition to her father, Christina is preceded in death by her daughter Amy Elizabeth Schroer. Christina was a fiercely devoted wife and mother. After many ups and downs over 34 years, she still believed her husband was the greatest man on the planet. Not only did she mother her biological children, but she was a second mom to dozens of kids that just needed to be loved. Christina lived life the most abundantly, whether that was knitting her heart out for Christmas presents or talking to the cashier and listening to their story. Christina became a Christian at a young age, but she wasn't a typical evangelical. She expressed her faith in her love to others. She cherished her church family at Potosi Community Church, and her extended church family from Union Hill Baptist Church in Holts Summit. Her motto was kindness is never wrong, and she approached every person she encountered with that attitude. Not only was she kind, but she believed that everyone was important, not just in general, but to her. Christina lived her life here on earth without fear of death, but looking forward to joyous reunions in heaven. She is finally living the life she dreamed. Visitation for Christina will be held on Saturday evening, April 18, 2015 from 5:00 PM - 8:00 PM at the DeClue Family Funeral Home. Visitation will resume on Sunday, April 19, 2015 from 12:00 PM - 3:00 PM. Funeral services for Christina will begin at 3:00 PM at the DeClue Memorial Chapel with Pastor Bill Brammer officiating assisted Pastor Frank Whitney. Honoring Christina by serving as her pallbearers will be Christopher Gaines, Benjamin Gaines, Ryan Schroer, Hunter Schroer, Dylan Portell, Jacob Malugen, and Jordan Malugen. Memorials may be made in memory of Christina to the Sports Crusaders, 434 South Summit Drive, Holts Summit MO. 65043. Internment and final prayers will be held at the Redbud Memorial Gardens. All funeral arrangements have been cared for by the DeClue Family Funeral Home.
