Chas Sutton

Chas ?Charlie? Franklin Sutton of Farmington, Missouri, formerly of Caledonia, departed this life on August 30, 2007, having reached the age of 95 years, 4 months and three days. He was born on April 27, 1912 at Caledonia, Missouri, a son of the late John Franklin Sutton and Nora Ellen (Seabourne) Sutton.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Helen Marie Mitchell Sutton who passed away on January 21, 1988. They shared over fifty years of marriage together. He was also preceded in death by one son, Charles William Sutton; three brothers, John Virgil Sutton, London Sutton, Clyde Sutton; and four sisters, Ethel Sutton, Edna Sutton, Lela Graham, Eula Wilson.

Charlie was a member of the Caledonia United Methodist Church, a member of the Eastern Star 321, a member of Caledonia Masonic Tyro Lodge #12 and a past Worshipful Master, a member of Valley Lions Club and past District Governor of the Lions District #26J.

Those who remain to mourn the passing of his life include his daughters, Mary Lou Stevenson and husband Lawrence of Montgomery, Alabama, Carol Gibson and husband Steve of Clio, Michigan, Nancy Petersen and husband John of Farmington, Missouri; three brothers, Cecil Sutton of Belgrade, Alvin Sutton and wife, Thelma of Tucson, Arizona, Loren Sutton and wife, Jo Ann of Bowling Green, Missouri; a sister, Nina Case and husband Roy of St. Louis; seven grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; numerous nieces; nephews; cousins and many other relatives and friends who will sadly miss him.

Funeral services were conducted at 2 PM, Sunday, September 2, 2007 at the Caledonia United Methodist Church with Rev. Linda Nelson officiating. Serving as pallbearers were Darrel Case, Joe Sutton, Wayne Sutton, Bob Turner, Jim Mitchell, Ronnie Sutton and Dennis Mitchell.

Interment and final prayers were held at the Caledonia Methodist Cemetery, Caledonia, Missouri. All arrangements were entrusted to the care and direction of the Britton Funeral Home of Potosi.
