Charles Melvin Parmley, Sr. of Potosi, Missouri departed this life on February 15, 2009 at the St. Louis University Hospital having reached the age of seventy five years, three months and nineteen days. He was born on October 27, 1933 a son to the late Buford Parmley and Susie Lawson Parmley.
In his spare time, Charles loved to garden. He was a carpenter and could build beautiful things.
In addition to his parents, Charles was preceded in death by a brother Donald Parmley and a grandchild Nicholas Elsey.
Those who remain to mourn the passing of his life are four sons Chuck Parmley of Potosi; Ronald Parmley and wife Sandra of St. Louis; Randy Parmley of Potosi; Clarence Parmely of Potosi; daughter Tracey Mitchell of Potosi; brother Jerry Parmley and wife Faye of Potosi; sister Wilma Cantrell and husband Raymond of Potosi; seven grandchildren; six great grandchildren; many other relatives and friends who will sadly miss him.
Funeral services were conducted Thursday, February 19, 2009 at 1 PM at the Britton Chapel with Rev. Lynn Thebeau officiating. Serving as pallbearers were Chuck Parmley, Ronald Parmley, Clarence Parmley, Randy Parmley, Andrew Parmley and Robert Blake.
Interment and final prayers were held at Redbud Memorial Gardens. All arrangements were entrusted to the care and direction of the Britton Funeral Home of Potosi.
