Charles Missey

April 26, 1940 — May 23, 2019

Charles Ellice Missey of Potosi, Missouri went to be with his Lord and Savior on May 23, 2019 at his residence surrounded by family having reached seventy-nine years of age. Charles was born on April 26, 1940 in Berryman, Missouri, a son to the late Joseph Missey and the late Sylvia (Wright) Missey. On October 25, 1958, Charles was united in marriage to Leona Maxine Evans at the Courtois Baptist Church and five kids were born unto this union.

Charles enjoyed working. He was a successful owner of a sawmill for many years. He enjoyed many things like listening to Hank Williams and watching Lone Ranger with his wife. He especially loved spending time with his kids, grandkids and great grandkids. Anything he ever received he gave God all the praise. He was so happy to go to his Heavenly home.

Charles will be missed by all those who knew and loved him including his five children: Helen Marie (Irfan) Lambay, Charles Leroy (Beverly) Missey, Leona Laura (Wayne) White, Hadley Joe (Shelley) Missey, and Matthew Lee (Carrie) Missey; thirteen grandchildren: Mandy Blanks, Deanna (Paul) St. Pierre, Anna Missey, Leroy (Heather) Missey, Jr., Rusty (Amber) Missey, Bob (Tara) White, Sam (Tonya) White, Wendy (Matt) Goodson, Jamie Missey, Hallie Missey, Olivia Missey, Morgan Missey, and Madison Missey; seventeen great-grandchildren: Evan, Abi, Allie, Lexi, Austin, Lindsey, Leah, Wesley, Paisley, Waylon, James, Adalyn, Lucas, Briella, Mirranda, Chase, and soon coming Baby Raylyn; one great-great grandchild, Markiah; six siblings: Virginia (Red) Moses, Eula Ennis, Lily (Mac) Jarvis, Frank Missey, Diane Reynolds, and Bill Missey; brothers-in-law: Bill Moses, Rainey Gray, and Jimmy Mercer; and also many dear relatives and friends.

In addition to his parents, Charles is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Leona Maxine Missey; grandson-in-law, Ray Blanks, Jr.; three sisters: Viola Moses, Mary Mercer, and Judy Gray; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Hadley and Ellen Evans; and many other loving family members.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 25, 2019 at the DeClue Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Visitation will resume on Sunday, May 26, 2019, beginning at 12:00 p.m.

A funeral service to honor Charles will begin at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 26, 2019, held in the DeClue Memorial Chapel with Bro. Bryan Buckley officiating. Honoring Charles by serving as his pallbearers will be Leroy Missey, Jr., Rusty Missey, Bob White, Sam White, Evan Missey, and Matthew Missey.

Interment and final prayers will be held at Courtois Cemetery in Berryman, Missouri following the service. All funeral arrangements have been cared for by DeClue Funeral Home
