Charles Evans

Elder Charles Edward Evans of Potosi, Missouri, was born on December 12, 1933 in Potosi, a son to the late Hadley James Evans and the late Ellen Mandy (Price) Evans. On September 16, 1955, Charles was united in Holy Matrimony to Evelyn Myers and they shared over fifty one years together.

Charles went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Thursday, December 8, 2016 at the Mercy Jefferson Hospital having reached the age of eighty two years, eleven months and twenty six days.

He will be missed by all those who knew and loved him including his two children Bruce Evans and wife Paula of Vilonia, Arkansas; Brenda Huddleston and husband J.C. of Potosi; three brothers: Claude Evans and wife Bea of Mineral Point; David Evans of Potosi; Steven Evans of Padukah, Kentucky; three sisters: Leona Missey and husband Charles of Berryman; Shirley Boyer and husband James of Cadet; Betty Palmer and husband Ronald of Cuba; five grandchildren: Anessa Walker and husband Eric; Katrina Crocker and husband Dustin; Michael Huddleston and Fiancé Christa Yount; Clay Patterson; Erica Patterson; four great grandchildren: Karlee Jacobs; Jozif Crocker; Keygan Jacobs; Kaycie Crocker; brother-in-law and sister-in-law Lindell and Bertha Gillam of Farmington; also surviving are a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and dear friends.

In addition to his parents, Charles was preceded in death by his loving wife, Evelyn Evans; three brothers: James Evans; Bobby Gene Evans; Phillip Bruce Evans; sister Ruby (Mrs. Wendell) Allen; father-in-law and mother-in-law Marvin and Lucille Myers; three sisters-in-law: Kathy Evans; Marie(Mrs. Edmond) Edgar; Wilma Evans.

Charles served in the United States Air Force from September 30, 1954 until June 29, 1958. While in service he received the Air Force Outstanding Unit Award and the Good Conduct Medal. Charles was a longtime member of the Bates Creek Baptist Church. He has served diligently in the ministry for many years. He was a loving husband, father, and paw paw.

Visitation will be held at the DeClue Funeral Home on Monday, December 12, 2016 from 4:30 PM until 8:00 PM and Tuesday, December 13, from 10:00 AM until 1:00 PM.

A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, December 13, 2016 at 1:00 PM held at the DeClue Memorial Chapel with Elder J.C. Huddleston, Elder Bruce Evans and Elder Michael Huddleston officiating.

Interment and final prayers will be held at the Bates Creek Cemetery where full military honors will be presented by the United States Air Force and VFW Post 6996.
