Charles Robert Bailey Sr. also known by family and friends as “Bob”, was born on March 3, 1954 in Corrdin, Missouri, a son to the late Earvin Bailey and Gladys (Chitwood) Bailey. Bob departed this life on Monday, May 13, 2024 at his home surrounded by his family at the age of 70.
On August 18, 1973, Bob was united in marriage to Deatra Johnson in Ellington, Missouri, and they shared nearly 51 years of life and love together.
Those who remain to treasure Bob’s memory include his loving wife, Deatra Bailey; his three children: Chuck Bailey (Brittany Thomlinson), Kenneth Bailey, and Deanna Bailey; ten grandchildren: Trevor Brewster, Charles Bailey III, Sierra Copeland, Dana Bailey, Kendra Thomlinson, Landon Thomlinson, Heath Bailey, Kenneth Bailey Jr., Hannah Eye, Logan Bailey, and Brayden Bailey; ten great grandchildren: Adalynn, Raylynn, Coraline, Roczen, Willow, Jayden, Zane, Klarity, Blaze, Kinley, Layla, and soon coming Baby Charleigh. Bob also leaves behind four siblings: Edward Leroy Bailey, Anthony Bailey, Kenneth (Tammy) Bailey, Roger (Kathy) Bailey; as well as nieces, nephews and extended family.
In addition to Bob’s parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters: Charlene Voyles, Colleen Parks, Barbara Belk; and many other dear relatives.
Bob was a family man and spending time with his grandkids and great grandkids was his favorite thing to do. He enjoyed many days going fishing, especially with Deatra at Sunnen Lake. Bob proudly served for many years as a volunteer firefighter for Potosi Fire District. In addition, he owned and operated E & B Auto Sales. Bob also Enjoyed watching outdoor themed shows such as Alaskan Bush People, Westerns, or hunting shows. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
In celebrating Bob’s life, the family invites you for a time of visitation at DeClue Funeral Home on Thursday, May 16, 2024 from 10:30 a.m. until his Funeral Service at 1 p.m. Burial will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, if so desired, memorial contributions may be directly made to DeClue Funeral Home, in memory of Bob.
