Cecil ?Mose? Roscoe Jarvis of Mineral Point, Missouri departed this life July 15, 2009 at his residence having reached the age of eighty seven years, five months and four days. He was born on February 11, 1922 at Belgrade, Missouri a son to the late Jesse Jarvis and Essie (Vineyard) Jarvis.
On February 10, 1940, Cecil was united in marriage to Rosemary Coleman and they shared sixty nine years together.
Cecil was a member of the Stoney Point Missionary Baptist Church. He was a lifelong logger and farmer. He enjoyed gardening and spending time with his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Cecil will always be remembered as ?Pop?.
In addition to his parents, Cecil was preceded in death by a son Tom Jarvis; three sisters Verdie Brand, Lena Huff, Galena Brown; four brothers Eldridge (Dee) Jarvis, Russell Jarvis, Curtis Jarvis, and Harold Jarvis.
Those who remain to mourn the passing of his life are his wife Rosemary Jarvis of Mineral Point; son Larry Jarvis and wife Sue of Mineral Point; daughter Rickie Riddle and husband Carl of Mineral Point; sister Ruth Jackson and husband Earl of Waterloo, IL; daughter in law Patricia Jarvis-Medley of Mineral Point; eight grandchildren; nineteen great grandchildren; many other relatives and friends who will sadly miss him.
Funeral services were conducted on Saturday, July 18, 2009 at 11 AM at the DeClue Family Chapel with Rev. Claude Evans officiating. Serving as pallbearers were Jim Glatczak, Phil McCoy, Andrew Glatczak, Shannon Jarvis, Mark Jarvis, Jeff Arndt, and Matt Riddle.
Interment and final prayers were held at Redbud Memorial Gardens. All arrangements were entrusted to the care and direction of the DeClue Family Funeral Home.
