Cathy Marler

Cathy Sue (Wells) Marler was born on July 22, 1963 to the late Orville Wells and Laveda Wells Politte. Cathy left this life on November 4, 2020, having reached the age of 57 years, 3 months, and 13 days.

Cathy had two children with her former husband, William (Jake) Marler, Jr., a son, William (Jakey) Marler, III and a daughter, Samantha Marler-Tedford.

Cathy was preceded in death by her father, Orville Wells and her son, William (Jakey) Marler III.

Those who remain to mourn her passing are: her daughter, Samantha (Richard) Marler-Tedford, grandson William (Liam) Marler-Tedford, mother, Laveda Wells Politte (William), sisters, Bev (Scott) Curry of Mineral Point, Mary (Steve) York of Festus, and Patricia Boland of Irondale, bonus daughter, Moriah Duncan, bonus granddaughter, Hazel Gray-Bretz, and many nieces, nephews, family members, and friends.

Cathy was a compassionate, loving, and giving person. It was important to her that others be treated with unconditional love and respect. That love is something that she taught her children to have, as well. She enjoyed being outdoors and hunting for artifacts. Cathy was a God fearing woman and took pride in her mission work, both local and abroad. She loved spending time with her family. Her grandson, Liam, was her pride and joy.

Visitation will be Monday, November 9, 2020 from 4:30 to 8:00 pm and on Tuesday, November 10, 2020 from 9 to 11 am at DeClue Funeral Home, 301 East High Street, Potosi, MO. 63664.

A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, November 10, 2020 at 11 am held at the DeClue Chapel with Pastor Sheldon Marler officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Hill Cemetery, Potosi, Missouri. Honoring Cathy by serving as pallbearers will be Jon Rice, Zane Rice, Kenny Mcleod, William Sanfilippo, Woody Jaycox, and Randy Murphy.
