Bulah Louise Sansoucie

August 27, 1944 — March 1, 2025

Bulah Louise Sansoucie, born on August 27, 1944, and a cherished member of her community, passed away on March 1, 2025, leaving behind a legacy defined by love, warmth, and dedication. As the daughter of the late Burnell and Inis (Burnham) Hall, Bulah grew up imbued with strong family values, which she carried with her throughout her life.

A proud graduate of DeSoto High School, class of 1962, Bulah embarked on her career immediately, first working at Purcell Tire in DeSoto. It was there that she met the love of her life, Earl Sansoucie, whom she married in a joyful ceremony at DeSoto Church of the Nazarene on October 20, 1962. Together, they built a family and a life filled with cherished memories.

Bulah dedicated over 30 years to the Kingston K-14 School District as the Food Service Director, retiring in 2007. Her commitment to her work exemplified her strong work ethic, as she poured her love for cooking into every meal prepared for the children she served. Known for her culinary skills, Bulah's kitchen was often alive with the delightful aromas of her renowned chicken and dumplings, hot rolls, and an array of delicious cookies and pies, with her apple pie being celebrated as a fan favorite.

In addition to her professional accomplishments, Bulah was actively involved in her community. She volunteered at school and church events, showing her unwavering dedication to those around her. Her garden, a testament to her nurturing spirit, flourished with vegetables and beautiful flowers. The simple joys of feeding the birds and caring for her beloved cat, Casey, brought her immense happiness.

Bulah embraced life's many pleasures through her love for classic television. She enjoyed watching old westerns like "Gunsmoke," the action-packed "Walker Texas Ranger," music shows such as "The Voice," and soap operas with a special fondness for "Young and the Restless."

After the passing of her beloved husband Earl J. Sansoucie, Bulah remained a guiding light for her family, with three daughters who adored her: Cindy (Jeff) Schuessler, Erlina (Robbie) Bay, and Christina (Jeff) Pruneau. She took great pride in being a grandmother to her six grandchildren: Dusty Bay, Tyler (Alexis) Bay, Adam Schuessler, Bradley Pruneau, Dalton Pruneau, and Molly Pruneau, and found joy in her role as great-grandmother to Sophia Lane. Her bond extended beyond family as she also loved her three sons-in-law, fostering relationships that made them feel like the sons she never had. Indeed, Bulah became a second mother to many, a source of love and guidance.

Bulah is survived by her daughters, grandchildren, great-granddaughter, her brother Danny (Denise) Hall, as well as nieces, nephews, and cousins who will forever hold her memory in their hearts. She was preceded in death by her parents, beloved husband Earl, grandson Dakota Halley, and her sister, Linda Acey and er brother Gene Hall.
