Bonnie Lea Leek of Farmington, Missouri was born on august 19, 1949, in Ironton, Missouri, a daughter of the late Melvin Thomas Ives and the late Ethel Mae (Harris) Ives. Bonnie went to her heavenly home on Friday, August 4, 2023, having reached the age of 73.
Her memory will be forever held in the hearts of those who loved her including her husband of 38 years, Russell Leek; son, Corey Leek (wife, Jill); two grandchildren: Austin and Ashley; and her sister, Alta Dodd. Bonnie was also survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great-great niece, great-great nephew, in-laws, and extended family. In addition to her parents, Bonnie was preceded in death by her brother-in-law, Jim Dodd; nephew, Ronnie Isgrig; her beloved puppy, Pirate; and many other dear relatives.
Bonnie was loved by so many. She loved her church, First Baptist Church of Farmington, where she attended with her husband, Russell. She loved spending time with her family and friends. Bonnie was social and enjoyed having a good time. She was considered a great mentor, a good listener and could offer sound advice to you when needed. Bonnie retired from the Division of Aging after 28 years of dedicated service. Bonnie also found enjoyment in crocheting, crossword puzzles, collecting barbie dolls, and shopping for jewelry. She treasured her dogs, especially her late puppy, Pirate. Bonnie loved big and made sure those around her knew how much they meant to her. Our family takes comfort in knowing that while she may be absent from this life, she is in the presence of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
