Bobby Volner

Bobby Ray Volner of Potosi, Missouri was born on December 31, 1933 in Lesterville, Missouri, a son to the late Herbert Elmer Volner and the late Cletta Ula (Alley) Volner. On May 16, 1981 Bob was united in marriage to Norma (Hughes) Jones and they shared thirty-five years together.

Bob entered eternal rest on Thursday, December 29, 2016 at his home having reached the age of eighty-two years, eleven months and twenty-eight days.

Bob will be missed by all those who knew and loved him including his wife Norma Volner of Potosi; twelve children: Bobby Volner Jr. of Massachusetts; Mark Volner of Massachusetts; Toni Amaral and husband Barry of Massachusetts; Regina Spencer and husband Robert of Massachusetts; Ellen Phillips and husband Paul of Perryville, Missouri; Lester Jones of Columbia, Missouri; Jason Jones of Farmington; Jesse Jones of Ironton; Dietra Hughes of St. Louis; Doraine Johnson of Park Hills, Missouri; Edward Jones and wife Melissa of Cadet, Missouri; Darwyn Jones of Chicago, Illinois; three brothers: Charles Volner and wife Lealla of Arnold; Billy Volner of Aurora, Missouri; Mike Volner and wife Angela of Mineral Point, Missouri; two sisters: Frances Cooper of Potosi and Lavera Saunders Blair and husband Norman of Potosi; three sisters-in-law: Hilda Volner of Potosi; Jane Volner of Tennessee and Gladys Volner of Potosi; twenty-eight grandchildren; twenty-seven great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; also surviving are a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and dear friends.

In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by one daughter, Fanny Gant; granddaughter, Abigail Jones Skaggs; sister Alberta Doss; and four brothers: Edward, Howard, Elmer and Jackie Volner; three brothers-in-law: Carl Saunders; Lowell Cooper and Hugo Doss.

Bob served in the United States Army from June 21, 1956 until June 20, 1958 and received the Good Conduct Medal.Bob always enjoyed camping and fishing with his brothers and sisters. He'd not been fishing since his brother Howard (LeRoy), passed away. He particularly enjoyed the family fish fries and barbecues.
