Billy Ray Johnson of Potosi, Missouri, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Friday, May 6, 2016 at the Washington County Memorial Hospital having reached the age of eighty two years, eleven months and five days. He was born on June 1, 1933 in Oats, Missouri, a son to the late Avery Johnson and the late Jewell (Shepard) Johnson.
On October 6, 1956, Billy was united in marriage to Seba Smith in Overland, Missouri and together they shared nearly sixty years together.
Billy is survived and will be missed by his loving and devoted wife Seba Johnson of Potosi; three children Pauline Dickinson, Rev. Wendell Johnson and wife Beverly, Regina Gough and husband Charles; sister Doilline Camden; five grandchildren Greg Dickinson and wife Pam, Tony Gough and wife Rebekah, Tabitha Pinkley and husband Kyle, Christopher Gough, Matthew Dickinson and wife Ariel; seven great grandchildren Heather Dickinson, Kelton Dickinson, Alex Aubuchon, Brooklyn Smith, Kyrington Williams, Harrison Williams and Elizabeth Gough; also surviving are nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents, Billy was preceded in death by two brothers Jarvis and Arvis "Sonny" Johnson; sister-in-law Grace Johnson and brother-in-law Ralph Camden.
Visitation will be held Monday, May 9, 2016 from 4:00-8:00 pm and Tuesday, May 10, from 10:00 am until 2:00 pm at the DeClue Funeral Home.
A funeral service will be held Tuesday, May 10, 2016 at 2:00 pm at the DeClue Memorial Chapel with Rev. Kennard Mayfield officiating assisted by Rev. Steve Cash.
Interment and final prayers will be held at the Redbud Memorial Gardens Cemetery where Billy will receive Full Military Honors by the United States Army and Bismarck VFW Post # 6947 for his brave service to our great country. Funeral arrangements were respectfully entrusted to the care and direction of the DeClue Funeral Home.
