Billy Cain

Billy Joseph Cain of Potosi, Missouri departed this life on May 8, 2011 at the St. Louis University Hospital having reached the age of fifty years, four months and nineteen days. He was born on December 19, 1960 at Bonne Terre, Missouri a son to Billy Cain and the late Marian DeClue.
In addition to his mother, Billy was preceded in death by his grandparents.
Those who remain to mourn his passing are his father Bill Cain and step mother Judy Cain of Cadet; son Kyle Cain and fiancé Ashley Cain of Potosi; two brothers Scott Cain and wife Deanna of Potosi; Keith Cain and wife Theresa of Kansas City; sister Pam Hoffman and husband Tom of Ohio; grandson Logan Elsey of Potosi and one grandchild to be here in September; many nieces, nephews and friends who will sadly miss him.
Billy was a very lovable man who cared for many people. He attended St. James Catholic Church. With all the many hobbies Billy had throughout life, work always came first. If there was something that needed done Billy knew how to do it or fix it. Billy enjoyed children and making them smile. Sunday was one of Billy’s favorite days of the week because he looked forward to going to church and the wonderful dinner and nap that followed. His stories, jokes, and laughter were beautiful gifts to all he shared his life with. Among all the things in life that Billy loved, his family was always first. Every moment spent with Billy created a beautiful memory that will be etched in our hearts forever.
A Funeral Mass was celebrated Thursday, May 12, 2011 at 10 AM at the St. James Catholic Church with Father Joe Welschmeyer officiating. Music was provided by organist Rebecca Richards and the St. James Resurrection Choir. Serving as pallbearers were Trevor Cain, Todd Cain, Tony DeClue, Marvin Johnson, Keith George Smith, and Robert Ward.
Interment and final prayers were held at Sunset Hill Cemetery. All arrangements were entrusted to the care and direction of the DeClue Family Funeral Home.
A luncheon was provided by St. James Church Ladies Sodality following the Interment.
