Billy Joe Arndt of Potosi, Missouri departed this life on May 30, 2010 having reached the age of sixty six years and sixteen days. He was born on May 14, 1944 at St. Louis, Missouri a son to the late Cecil Raymond (Sam) Arndt and Edna Virginia (Briley) Arndt.

After his retirement from General Motors, Billy Joe enjoyed spending his time hunting and fishing. He always knew the best places to hunt and where to find the biggest fish. He enjoyed spending as much time as possible with his family and friends and was always the first person to lend a hand to someone in need. He will be greatly missed by everyone whose lives he touched.

In addition to his parents, Billy was preceded in death by a son Billy Joe Murphy Arndt; two brothers in law Marvin Blackwell and Terry Schoonover.

Those who remain to mourn his passing are his wife Connie Arndt of Mineral Point; son Allen Arndt and wife Jill of Potosi; two daughters Cheryl Arndt of Bonne Terre; Tonya Arndt of Potosi; one step daughter Paula Buchholz and husband Kirk of Kirkwood; two step sons Sammy Politte and wife Dana of St. Louis; Billy Politte and wife Kim of Columbia; three brothers Jerry Arndt and wife Isabell of Hopewell; Mike Arndt and wife Linda of Hopewell; Randy Arndt and wife Beverly of Hopewell; sister Muriel Schoonover of Bismarck; best Friend Bill Russell; five grandchildren; two great grandchildren; five step grandchildren; countless nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives who will sadly miss him.

Funeral services were conducted on Thursday, June 3, 2010 at 11 AM at the DeClue Family Chapel with Rev. Noel Nelson officiating. Serving as pallbearers were Mike Arndt, Randy Arndt, Derrall Shelton, Michael Arndt, Dean Yates and Jeffrey Arndt. Honorary pallbearers were Bill Russell, Russell Zelner and Jerry Arndt.

Interment and final prayers were held at Redbud Memorial Gardens. All arrangements were entrusted to the care and direction of the DeClue Family Funeral Home.
