Beulah Akers

April 16, 1925 — April 24, 2009

Beulah Mae Akers of Belgrade, Missouri departed this life on April 24, 2009 at the Missouri Baptist Hospital having reached the age of eighty four years and eight days. She was born on April 16, 1925 at Huzzah, Missouri a daughter to the late John Britton and Allie Wilkinson Britton.

Beulah was saved at an early age and a life long member of Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church. She will be best remembered for her love and care she had for those around her. Her life was the perfect example of unconditional love as well as giving. There was never a time a guest stopped by that they did not leave without a gift. The greatest gift she desired to leave with her family and friends was the gift of salvation and the promise of meeting again.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Charlie Akers; daughter LaDonna Mitchell; son Charles Dean Akers; grandson Brent Akers; brother Al Britton; brother in law Rev. Harry W. Darst.

Those who remain to mourn the passing of her life are her three sons Elmer Akers and wife Kathy of Potosi, Delmer Akers and wife Donna of Belgrade, Glen Akers and wife Karen of Kentucky; grandsons Brad Akers of Belgrade, Byron Akers and wife Shelli of Belgrade; granddaughter Denise Reed and husband Christopher of Potosi; four sisters Marie Darst of Texas, Dolorece Gibson and husband Freeman of Pacific, Opal Wilkerson and husband Joe of Potosi, Erma Holley and husband Jack of St. Charles; two brothers, John Britton and wife Ava of Cuba, Don Britton and wife Madeline of Cuba, thirteen grandchildren; eighteen great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Barbara Britton Walls and husband Jack of Potosi; daughter-in-law, Peggy Niemeier and husband Don of Arnold.

Funeral services were conducted on Tuesday, April 28, 2009 at 1 PM at the Britton Chapel with Rev. Don Crocker officiating. Serving as pallbearers were Scott Akers, Jeff Akers, Cody Akers, Ryan Akers, Scott Dennis and Byron Akers.

Interment and final prayers were held at the Caledonia Methodist Cemetery. All arrangements were entrusted to the care and direction of the Britton Funeral Home of Potosi.
