Betty Mae Pashea Jeffries of Potosi, Missouri departed this life on July 30, 2006 at Des Peres Hospital, St. Louis, Missouri, having reached the age of 70 years and 3 months. She was born on April 30, 1936 at Palmer, Missouri, a daughter of the late Vernie King and Laura (Politte) King.
On July 21, 1952, she married Lonnie James Pashea at Cadet, Missouri and they shared over 43 years of marriage before Mr. Pashea preceded her in death on April 5, 1996. She later married Wilburn Jefferies on October 24, 1998 at Richwoods, Missouri.
Betty was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She loved her family and her Church, Way of Life Tabernacle at Richwoods. She was an Ordained Minister and Vice President of the Organization of the Church of Jesus Christ of Nazarene. She was a dear sister, aunt, cousin and friend who will be sadly missed by all who knew her.
Those who remain to mourn the passing of her life include her husband, Wilburn Jeffries of Potosi; her sons, Gary Pashea and wife Betty of Potosi, David Pashea and wife Nancy of Iron Mountain; her foster son, Jerry Smith of Potosi; two brothers, Luther Joe King of Mineral Point, Larry King of Mineral Point; two sisters, Edna Schroeder of Hillsboro, Patsy DeClue and husband Frankie of Richwoods; seven grandchildren, Brian Talley and wife Cindy, Angela Jarvis and fianc? Clark Smith, Vickie Lawson and husband Russell, Betty Smith, Theresa Miner and husband Robert, Elizabeth Montgomery and husband Scott and Amanda Pashea; six great grandchildren; nieces; nephews; cousins and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were conducted on Wednesday, August 2, 2006 at 10 AM at the Britton Chapel, Potosi, Missouri with Rev. Jim Merritt officiating. Serving as pallbearers were Scott Montgomery, Bobby Miner, Bill King, Dennis DeClue, Willie Farris, Clark Smith, Phil DeClue, Robert Ditch, and honorary pallbearers, Brian Talley and Dave Politte.
Interment and final prayers were held at New Diggins Cemetery, Mineral Point, Missouri. All arrangements were entrusted to the care and direction of the Britton Funeral Home of Potosi.
