Betty Marie Gillam of Potosi, Missouri departed this life on January 28, 2014 at the Georgian Gardens Nursing Home having reached the age of seventy seven years, ten months and thirty days. She was born on February 29, 1936 in Palmer, Missouri a daughter to the late Jesse King and Grace (White) King.
In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her husband Harold Gillam and two sisters Dolly Coleman and Norma Reed.
Betty enjoyed going to steak n shake and white castle. She really liked going to garage sales and thrift stores. She loved her porcelain dolls, her sweets and her dog, Midnight.
Those who remain to mourn her passing are a daughter Pamela Crowe of Potosi; son Harold Gillam, Jr. and wife Pennie of St. Charles; five grandchildren Kristi Neumann, Jill Visconti, Mandy Baker, Katy Crowe, Patty Carrey; twelve great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; many other relatives and friends who will sadly miss her.
Funeral services were conducted on Friday, January 31, 2014 at 10 AM at the DeClue Chapel with Rev. Wendell Nipper officiating. Serving as pallbearers were Rodney McCarron, Jimmy Dean Wilkerson, Mike Gillam and Harold Gillam Jr.
Interment and final prayers were held at the Redbud Memorial Gardens. All arrangements were entrusted to the care and direction of the DeClue Family Funeral Home.
