Betty Jo Drennen, a devoted wife, loving mom, and a cherished grandma, went to her Heavenly Home on Saturday, June 8, 2024 having reached the age of 89. Betty was born on May 12, 1935 in Mineral Point, Missouri, a daughter of the late Joe and June (McGee) Kean.
On November 10, 1951, Betty was united in marriage to Irvin Drennen and they shared nearly sixty-eight years together.
Those who remain to treasure her memory include her five children: JoAnn (James) Barron, Larry (Tami) Drennen, Rick (Nova) Drennen, Stanley Drennen, and Kenny (Mary) Drennen; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren; and her four siblings: Floyd (Shirley) Kean, Rosemary Cain, Noma Faye Goodson, and Roy (Mary) Kean. Betty also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and extended family.
In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Irvin Drennen on June 12, 2019; her son, Danny Drennen; daughter-in-law, Evelyn "Peanut" Drennen; four siblings: Dorothy Adams, Laverna Drennen, Bobby Kean, and Brenda Ames; and father-in-law and mother-in-law: Herman "Buck" and Laura (Missey) Drennen.
Betty had a wonderful since of humor and kept everyone laughing. Her beautiful smile would light up a room. She enjoyed fishing. Betty always looked forward to her trips out West with Irvin, visiting family that they didn't get to see very often, sight seeing, and simply spending time with one another. In her early years, Betty enjoyed camping. She loved her family very much and loved every moment spent with them. Betty was talented. She could play the guitar and the Bull Bass while many times singing with her family. Everyone always loved her cooking, especially her Potato salad, homemade buttermilk biscuits, and beans and cornbread. When she was physically able, Betty attended both Big River Church and New Diggins Church. Betty loved the Lord.
In celebrating and remembering Betty's life, her family invites all who knew and loved her to join them for a time of visitation at DeClue Funeral Home on Wednesday, June 12, 2024 from 5 to 8 pm. Visitation will resume on Thursday morning, from 9 am until the time of her Funeral Service at 10 am, held in the DeClue Chapel. Pastor Robert Wade will be officiating. Interment and final prayers will follow at New Diggins Cemetery.
