Betty Jane Chandler-Bourbon of Mineral Point, Missouri, was born on March 17, 1935, a daughter of the late John Owen Fitzgerald and Ada Bell (Williams) Fitzgerald. Betty passed away on Monday, July 4, 2022, having reached the age of eighty-seven years, three months, and seventeen days. On October 17, 2007, Betty was united in marriage to Raymond "Junior" Bourbon and they shared nearly fifteen years together.
Those who remain to treasure her memory include her husband, Raymond Bourbon; daughter: Debbie Boyer (husband, Larry); stepchildren: Patsy Pyatt, Vicky Parks, and Timmy Bourbon; grandchildren: Crystal Boyer, TJ Strange, Courtney Bussing, RC Pyatt, Jennifer Pyatt, and Gabrielle; great-grandchildren: Leah, Willie, Taylee, Kylynn, Stella, Tyson, Cameron and a soon coming great grandbaby in November; siblings: Berniece Capestro (husband, Dave), Woody Fitzgerald and Pat, and Tony Fitzgerald. Betty is also survived by nieces, nephews, extended family and dear friends that she made at her restaurant through the years.
In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her grandson, William Barton; brother, Ervin Fitzgerald; and many other dear relatives.
Betty owned and operated “Betty’s Little Kitchen” in Caledonia for several years as well as managed other restaurants in the area. She loved cooking and feeding all the animals in her back yard. She enjoyed watching the birds with Raymond. In years past, Betty enjoyed going to The Sayers Senior Center listening to the music and visiting with friends. Betty had a tremendous work ethic, independent, and resilient. Betty was big hearted, caring, and compassionate.
A visitation will be Thursday, July 7, 2022, from 5 to 8 pm at DeClue Funeral Home, 301 E High St, Potosi, MO 63664. Visitation will resume on Friday, July 8, 2022, from 9 to 11 am.
A Funeral Service will be held at 11 am on Friday, July 8, 2022, at the DeClue Memorial Chapel. Interment will follow at Bellevue Presbyterian Cemetery in Caledonia.
