Bernice Taft

Bernice Taft of Mineral Point, Missouri departed this life on December 10, 2009 at her residence having reached the age of seventy eight years, five months and eighteen days. She was born on June 22, 1931 at Paragould, Arkansas a daughter to the late Elvice Johnson and Lucy (Branch) Johnson.

In addition to her parents, Bernice was preceded in death by her husband David Taft; son David Taft, Jr. and twin brother Mertice ?Sonny? Johnson.

Those who remain to mourn her passing are two daughters Donna Short and husband David of Mineral Point; Vicky Short of Mineral Point; son Blake Taft and wife Jerry of Fredericktown; two granddaughters Heather Barton and Brooklyn Short; many other relatives and friends who will sadly miss her.

Funeral services were conducted on Sunday, December 13, 2009 at 1 PM at the DeClue Family Chapel with Rev. Wayne Gibson officiating. Serving as pallbearers were David Short, Blake Taft, J.C. Huddleston, Jim Griffith, Jamie Griffith and Jim Humphery.

Interment and final prayers were held at New Masonic Cemetery. All arrangements were entrusted to the care and direction of the DeClue Family Funeral Home.
