Ava Yount

Ava Elizabeth Yount of Belgrade, Missouri passed away on March 5, 2015 at the Potosi Manor Nursing Home having reached the age of ninety three years and thirteen days. She was born on February 20, 1922 a daughter to the late Charles and Minnie (Wood) Elliott. Ava was a longtime member of the Belgrade United Methodist Church. Those who remain to mourn her passing are her eight children: Georgia Nickelson of Caledonia, Missouri, Kathleen Richards and husband Neil of Potosi, Missouri, Larry Yount and wife Ruth Ann of Belgrade, Missouri, Gary Yount and wife Pat of Belgrade, Missouri, Mickey Branaugh and husband Dennis of Potosi, Missouri, Dennis Yount of Bismarck, Missouri, Debbie Harbison and husband Rick of Belgrade, Missouri, and Pamela Trokey and husband Steve of Potosi, Missouri; sixteen grandchildren; twenty nine great-grandchildren; six great great-grandchildren; and many other extended family members and friends. In addition to her parents, Ava is preceded in death by her husband Glenwood Yount; son-in-law Gordon Nickelson; great-grandson Brooke Nickelson; five sisters; and nine brothers. A funeral service began at 3:00 PM at the DeClue Memorial Chapel on Saturday, March 5, with Pastor Jan Dillard officiating. Honoring Ava by serving as her pallbearers were Stephen Nickelson, Jason Nickelson, Brad Yount, Blake Yount, Greg Yount, Dennis Branaugh, Todd Harbison, and Clinton Trokey. Honorary pallbearer will be Ryan Yount. Interment and final prayers were held at the Caledonia Methodist Cemetery in Caledonia, Missouri. In Lieu of flowers, memorials should be made to the Caledonia Methodist Cemetery.
