August “Gus” John Bolte of Potosi, Missouri passed away on July 15, 2016 at the SSM St. Clare Health Center having reached the age of eighty five years, six months, and twenty eight days. He was born on December 17, 1930, in Union, Missouri, a son to the late August Casper Bolte and the late Burnadine (Bretenbock) Bolte. On May 9, 1963, Gus was united in marriage to the late Betty Lou Bolte.
Gus is survived by his three sons: Keith Bolte and companion Sandy Davis of St. Charles, Jeff Bolte and wife Josie of Farmington, and Steve Bolte and wife Barb Warrenton; two daughters: Debbie Summers and husband Donald of Afton, and Karen Bolden and husband Curtis of O’Fallon; seventeen grandchildren; twenty-two great grandchildren; and special friends: Dave and Ruth Hults.
In addition to his parents, Gus is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Betty Lou Bolte; grandson, Kyle Bolte; and nine siblings.
Visitation for Gus was held on Monday, July 18, 2016 at the DeClue Funeral Home from 4:30 PM until 8:00 PM and on Tuesday, July 19, 2016, beginning at 9:00 AM. A funeral service was conducted on Tuesday, at 11:00 AM, with Rev. Ronnie Raven officiating, held in the DeClue Memorial Chapel.
Interment and final prayers were held at the Caledonia Methodist Cemetery. DeClue Funeral Home was privileged to care for the funeral arrangements for Gus and his family during this time of remembrance.
