Anna Jean Coffman

Anna Jean Coffman of Potosi, Missouri was born on May 12, 1928 in Potosi a daughter of the late Alvin “Country” Cain and the late Anna Mae (Jarvis) Cain. On November 29, 1945 Anna Jean was united in marriage to Clyde Junior Coffman in Osceola, Arkansas. They shared nearly sixty-four years together.

Anna entered eternal rest on Friday, March 17, 2017 at the Washington County Memorial Hospital having reached the age of eighty-eight years, ten months and five days.

Anna will be missed by all those who loved and knew her including her three children: Dennis Coffman and wife Cris C. of West County, St. Louis; Mary Ann Gibson and husband Dale of Potosi; Ellen Pashia and husband Ronnie of Potosi; six grandchildren: Angella Doty and husband Mike; Dennis Coffman Jr. and wife Angie; Jina Gipson and husband Zed; Shane Pashia and wife Christy; Tim Pashia and wife Mackenzie; Seth Gibson and wife Kami; fourteen great grandchildren: Ashley Frye, Erin McCloskey, Garrett Coffman, Courtney Coffman, Brayden Gipson, Grayson Gipson, Isaiah Pashia, Kaleb Pashia, Trinity Huffman, Jaxon Huffman, Kaidence Gibson, Kayson Pashia, Caulyer Pashia and Rowan Pashia.

In addition to her father and mother, Anna was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Clyde Coffman and her grandson, Justin Pashia.

Anna Jean’s career began at Kingston K-14 School District as a teacher, without a degree. At that point she began taking college classes in the evenings and during the summer when school was out. Anna Jean obtained her Master’s Degree in 1973 and began teaching and served as a board member for Potosi R-3 School. She loved writing articles for the I.J. weekly. One of her favorite articles to write was “U-Know Who”. In addition, Anna Jean also wrote and published several cook books. Anna Jean was a member of the Potosi First Baptist Church. She was passionate about her faith in Christ. Above all the many things Anna Jean loved, her family was her favorite. Her children and grandchildren were her pride and joy and she loved and cherished the time she spent with them. Anna Jean left a rich heritage of faith and family which will continue to live on through the generations until we are reunited with her someday.

Visitation was held at the DeClue Funeral Home Sunday, March 19, 2017 from 4:30-8 p.m. and Monday, March 20, 2017 from 9-11 a.m. at the Potosi First Baptist Church. A Funeral Service was held on Monday, March 20, 2017 at 11 a.m. at the Potosi First Baptist Church with Pastor Jim Ainley officiating.

Interment and final prayers were held at the New Masonic Cemetery, Potosi, Missouri. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the care and direction of the DeClue Funeral Home.
