Joseph Andrew Coffman of Potosi, Missouri departed this life on May 9, 2009 at his residence having reached the age of sixty six years, six months and seventeen days. He was born on October 22, 1942 at Leadwood, Missouri a son to the late Andrew Coffman and Mary Lena Degonia Coffman.
On January 6, 1962, Andy married Judy Riddle and they shared over forty seven years together. After Andy and Judy were married, they moved back to the country and he went to work for the lead mines. There he learned to weld. His joy was making horse trailers, flatbeds and cowboy signs, in which you still see around. In his early years, he deer hunted, rode his horse in horse shows and took care of his cattle when he had them. He had a passion of playing the guitar and singing country music. When his boy was alive, they had a small band with Don Scott called ?Country Ebo?. He enjoyed it when friends came to the house and had a good ole? jam session. Later he enjoyed gospel music, where he sang and played in church. He felt at peace with his country church and the fellowship that came with it. He was a member of the Fellowship Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, Andy was preceded in death by a son Bryan Coffman, half sister Gladys Effrein and two half brothers Carl Coffman and Herman Coffman.
Those who remain to mourn the passing of his life are wife Judy Coffman of Potosi; daughter Joanna Coffman of Potosi; granddaughter Chelsey Kathcart of Potosi; sister in law Nancy Gibson and husband Mike of Potosi; a sister Rita Gau and husband Ken of Hillsboro and many other relatives and friends who will sadly miss him.
Funeral services were conducted on Thursday, May 14, 2009 at 1 PM at the DeClue Family Chapel with Rev. Mike Jarvis officiating. Serving as pallbearers were Mike Gibson, Mike Weston, Lessel Mosier, Bill Wright, Hank Russell and Eugene Lawson.
Interment and final prayers were held at the Sunset Hill Cemetery. All arrangements were entrusted to the care and direction of the DeClue Family Funeral Home.
