Amanda Carlene Lillian Schmidt also lovingly known by family and friends as "Mandy" was born on December 2, 1974 in Bonne Terre, Missouri, a daughter to Ms. Diane (Coulter) Wade and the late Rev. James "Jim" N. Wade. On Thursday, June 15th, 2023, Mandy's faith became her sight, as she was united with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Mandy had reached the age of 48 years, 6 months and 13 days.
In addition to her father, Mandy was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents: Rev. Philip and Violet Wade; maternal grandmother: Carlene Chandler ; and many other relatives.
Those who remain to treasure her memory include her husband, Matthew A. Schmidt; mother, Diane Wade; two sons: Aidan Grindstaff, Avery Grindstaff; three step children: Cora Irvin (husband, Andrew), Jessica Wilson (husband, Sean), and Matthew J. Schmidt; two grandchildren: Case and Maggie; two siblings: Jimmy Wade (wife, Karen) and Jennifer Wade Sampson; nieces and nephew: Kayla, Jeremiah, and Ally; as well as church family and many dear friends.
Mandy was a longtime member of Hopewell Church of God. Mandy truly loved the Lord with all of her heart and lived her life to lead by example. She wanted nothing more than her family to all be in Heaven with her. Throughout the years, Mandy served in her church as past worship leader. Mandy loved to play the piano and sing praises to her Lord. In addition, she also taught Sunday School and served as the church secretary for many years. After graduating from Cornerstone Christian Academy, Mandy furthered her education as a school teacher. Mandy loved her students and teaching. Anyone that knew Mandy, knew that she was a cat lover, especially to Coco, Oreo, and Tiger. Mandy has left such an imprint on the hearts and lives of those she touched.
Visitation will be held on Friday, June 23, 2023 from 10:30 am to 2 pm at Hopewell Church of God. A Funeral Service will immediately follow at 2 pm held at the church. Pastor Sam Mosier will officiate her service. Interment will be held at Hopewell Cemetery. Funeral arrangements were respectfully entrusted to the care and direction of DeClue Funeral Home.
