Alice Lucille Shipp of St. Peters, Missouri formerly of Potosi, Missouri was born on January 25, 1924 a daughter to the late Percy Cole and the late Mattie (Johnson) Cole. On October 8, 1944 Lucille was united in marriage to Lawrence Shipp and they shared nearly seventy years together. Lucille passed away peacefully on Monday, December 17, 2018 at the Village of St. Peter’s Memory Care Center, having reached the age of ninety-four.
Lucille is survived by her five children: Catherine (Tom) Hullverson, Thomas (Dianne) Shipp, Nancy (Nolan) Sims, Colleen Loomis and Cheryl Kaye Shipp; four grandchildren: Courtney (Robert) Trudeau, Ciara Cooper, Tim (Lauren) Shipp and Gabe (Ashley) Sims; five great-grandchildren: Triston Trudeau, Olivia Cooper, Tate Shipp, Aurora Sims and Ryder Sims; one brother, Robert Cole; also surviving are nieces, nephews, extended family and many dear friends.
In addition to her parents, Lucille was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Lawrence “Larry” Shipp; sister, Dorothy Marie Cole; father-in-law and mother-in-law: John and Bessie Shipp.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, December 22, 2018 from 10:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the DeClue Funeral Home, 301 East High Street, Potosi, Missouri 63664.
A Funeral Service will commence on Saturday at 1:00 p.m. held in the DeClue Memorial Chapel with Elder Mike Jarvis officiating.
Interment and final prayers will be held at the New Masonic Cemetery, Potosi. Funeral arrangements for Lucille were respectfully entrusted to the care and direction of the DeClue Funeral Home.
