Alda Douglas

Alda Lois Douglas of Caledonia, Missouri departed this life on September 12, 2011 at her residence having reached the age of eighty three years, three months and one day. She was born on June 11, 1928 at Belgrade, Missouri a daughter to the late Charles Wiley and Loretta (Wilson) Wiley.

On July 5, 1947, Lois was united in marriage to Ted Douglas, Jr. and they shared sixty four years together.

Lois was a very active person. A short list of which she attained are: A member of the Caledonia Methodist Church and led in many activities; member of the Library Board; one of the four charter members of the Missouri Star Quilters and a member of many quilt clubs and quilted many years. Most of all she was a great wife, mom and granny.

In addition to her parents, Lois was preceded in death by two sisters Virginia Bays, Monalou Henry and two brothers Reed Wiley and Dale Wiley.

Those who remain to mourn her passing are her husband Ted Douglas, Jr. of Caledonia; two daughters Shirley (John) Schwarz of Creve Coeur; Pat Douglas Irby of Caledonia; three brothers Gale (Mick) Wiley of Cedar Hill; Buck (Ila) Wiley of Baldwin, IL; Harold (Jean) Wiley of Manchester; two sisters Marion Hutcherson of McKinney, Texas; Wanda (Bob) Moon of Naples, Fl; four grandchildren Michael Irby, Dawn (Josh) Irby Stavenau, Spencer (Jennifer) Schwarz, Steuart Schwarz; many other relatives and friends who will sadly miss her.

Funeral services were conducted on Thursday, September 15, 2011 at 11 AM at the DeClue Chapel with Rev. Jim West officiating. Serving as pallbearers were Gale Wiley, Buck Wiley, Michael Irby, Josh Stavenau, Justin Province and Earl Province.

Interment and final prayers were held at Caledonia Methodist Cemetery. All arrangements were entrusted to the care and direction of the DeClue Family Funeral Home.
