Alberta Huff

Alberta Joyce Huff of Irondale, Missouri departed this life on January 5, 2016 at her residence having reached the age of seventy four years, seven months, and twenty days. She was born on May 16, 1941 in Bonne Terre, Missouri, a daughter to the late James and Freda (Stegall) Weir.

Alberta is survived by her beloved husband, Donald Huff of Irondale; two sons: Robert Huff and wife Suzette of Mineral Point and Tom Huff and Elba of Tuscumbia; daughter Donna Marler and husband Bob of Mineral Point; four brothers: Howard Weir of Irondale, James Weir of Mineral Point, John Weir and wife Vicki of Mineral Point, and George Weir and wife Dela of Mineral Point; six sisters: Bonnie Morris and husband Gordon of Arizona, Barbara Boyster of Mineral Point, Rose Embry and husband Les of Bonne Terre, Carol Johnson and husband Harry of Mineral Point, Alice Weir and Lana Brewer of Mineral Point, and Nina Tate and husband Clarence of Mineral Point; twelve grandchildren: Jeremy Marler and wife Kathy, Crystal Settles and husband Daniel, Shannon Marler, Derrick Huff, Dillon Huff, Luke Huff, Audrey Huff, Kayla Johnson and husband Jason, Bailey Huff, Clint Huff, Jamie Crites, and Christina Huff; eight great-grandchildren; special friends: Sue Crocker, Dorothy Lee, Marie Barron, Kim and Diane; and also many nieces, nephews, uncles, and aunts.

In addition to her parents, Alberta is preceded in death by her two sons: Patrick Huff and Donald Huff, Jr.; and brother Walter Weir.

In 1956, Alberta was united in marriage to Donald Huff and they shared fifty nine years together. Alberta was a longtime member and secretary of the Big River Church. Among the many things that she enjoyed doing, cooking and yard selling were two of her favorites. Alberta loved her family and cherished the time that she spent with them. She was always helping her family and friends. Alberta will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Visitation for Alberta was held on Friday, January 8, 2016 at the DeClue Funeral Home from 4:30 PM – 8:00 PM.

Funeral services were held at 11:00 AM on Saturday in the DeClue Memorial Chapel with Pastor Bob Adams officiating assisted by Pastor Steve Campbell.

Interment and final prayers will be held at the Huff Cemetery. Funeral arrangements were respectfully entrusted to the care and direction of the DeClue Funeral Home.
