Albert Yount

October 28, 1923 — October 16, 2014

Albert Nichols Yount, a lifelong farmer of Washington County, passed away on October 16, 2014 at the Potosi Manor Nursing Home after many health complications from a massive stroke in 2011. Albert was born on October 28, 1923 in Washington County, Missouri, a son to the late Edwin Owen Yount and Fannie May (Gibson) Yount.

On June 14, 1947, Albert was united in marriage to Hazel Ann Wheeler and they shared fifty two years together until her passing on October 16, 1999.

Albert worked in St. Louis until retiring in 1990. Albert was appalled at God's creation. He never wanted to go further than he could see. Albert enjoyed his cattle, wild animals and telling stories to whomever would listen.

Those who remain to mourn his passing are his dedicated caregivers for the past fourteen years, Jack and Sharon Allen and family of Potosi; nephew Edward Warden and wife Barbara of St. Louis; brother-in-law Robert Wheeler and friend Pat of St. Louis and many other relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents, Albert was preceded in death by his beloved wife Hazel Yount; brother Charles Yount; sister Katherine Warden and husband William.
Funeral services were conducted on Saturday, October 18, 2014 at 10:00 AM held at the DeClue Memorial Chapel with Bro. Carl Wilson officiating. Musical selections were "This World's Not My Home", "Lord I'm Coming Home" and "Precious Memories" provided by Mrs. Bonnie Wilson.

Honoring Albert's life by serving as pallbearers were Roger Yount, Austin Bailey, Andy Politte, Chris Reed, Jerry Wheeler and Andy Blair. Interment and final prayers were held at the Sunset Hill Cemetery, Potosi, Missouri.

Funeral arrangements were respectfully cared for by the DeClue Funeral Home.
