Norma Jean Belfield of Potosi, Missouri was born on September 12, 1927 in Belgrade, Missouri, a daughter of the late Jesse James Owens and the late Jettie Mae (Parks) Owens. Norma passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 12, 2019 at her home surrounded by her family having reached the age of ninety-two.

Norma is survived by her daughter, Pam Hampton; son, Chuck (Robin) Belfield; six grandchildren: Tanette (Tim) Allen, Ernest “Wezzer” (Karen) Hampton, Venessa (Brian) Seaton, Chuckie (Tammy) Hampton, Jordan (Jennifer) Belfield and Micah (Grace) Belfield; twelve great grandchildren: Tealah (Charlie) Workes, Canda Allen, Brittany (Jason) McCombs, Kelsey (Dylan) Wyrick, Eli Hampton, Sydney Hampton, Houston (Ashley) Seaton, BreeAnn (Jake) Rhodes, Lane Hampton, Danielle Hampton, Brooke Hampton and Noah Belfield; ten great-great grandchildren: Colton, Madison, Ethan, Julia and Amina Workes, Greyson and Mia McCombs, Connor and Grace Wyrick, and Magnolia Mae Seaton; also surviving are a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and dear friends.
In addition to Norma’s father and mother, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Charles “Tal” Belfield; son-in-law, Ernest Hampton, Jr.; nine siblings: Mable Walsh, Eunice Bowles, William Lester Owens, Alma McGee, Ruth Norton, Paul Owens, Junior Owens, Anna Horton and Virginia Owens; and dear family friend, Harley Pettit.
Visitation was held Saturday, September 14, 2019 from 5 to 8 PM at the DeClue Funeral Home. Visitation resumed on Sunday, September 15, 2019 from 12 to 2 PM.
A Funeral Service was held on Sunday, September 15, 2019 at 2 PM held in the DeClue Memorial Chapel with Pastor H. Wayne Isgriggs and Pastor Rick Posey officiating.
Interment followed in the Caledonia Methodist Cemetery. Funeral arrangements were respectfully entrusted to the care and direction of the DeClue Funeral Home.
